Introduction

The third book in The Naturals series, All In pulls readers right back into the world of these brilliant teens as they take on their most intense case yet. Jennifer Lynn Barnes first released this instalment in 2015, but with a brand new addition to the series arriving in November 2026, there has never been a better moment to dive in. The return of the full cast, the escalating stakes, and the emotional depth make this book a standout for longtime fans and a perfect lead up to what comes next.

A Summary

The story kicks off with a chilling pattern in Las Vegas: three casinos, three victims, three days. Cassie Hobbes and the Naturals are brought in to figure out what links these murders, but the case immediately throws them off balance. The killer changes methods every time, the attacks happen in crowded public spaces, and somehow there is never a trace of the culprit on any camera. Each victim is left with a string of numbers tattooed on their wrist, and cracking that code becomes the team’s only real lead. The closer they get to understanding what the numbers mean, the more dangerous the investigation becomes. At the same time, Cassie is hit with news she never expected. After years of silence, there is finally movement in her mother’s case, and it pulls her into an emotional spiral that runs parallel to the main mystery. With tensions rising inside the group and the stakes getting higher by the hour, the Naturals are pushed into choices that feel impossible. The result is a tense, layered instalment that blends personal history with a high pressure hunt for a killer.

Writing Style

The writing style in All In feels incredibly clean, almost effortless in the way it moves you from scene to scene without ever dragging. It has that same fast paced rhythm the series is known for, where chapters slip by before you even realise how long you’ve been reading. The you sections are still one of the most interesting stylistic choices in the series and they work so well here. They add this extra layer of tension and curiosity because you’re constantly trying to figure out who is speaking and how their perspective fits into the bigger picture. It keeps your brain switched on in the best way. Overall, the style stays very true to the first two books, which makes the whole series feel cohesive while still letting this installment push deeper into the emotional and psychological threads that make it stand out.

What I Loved

What really hooked me in All In was how confidently the plot levels up. By the third book you expect a series to lose a bit of steam or start circling familiar territory, but this one just keeps sharpening itself. The twists feel earned and the reveals hit because the groundwork has been quietly sitting there the whole time. I loved that balance of being given enough information to think I might be able to solve the mystery, while still wanting to sit back and watch The Naturals do what they do best. Seeing how each of them approaches the same clue from completely different angles is one of the most entertaining parts of the series. It makes the investigation feel dynamic and clever rather than a simple puzzle the reader is supposed to crack. Another thing I really appreciated is how the series threads itself together. Each book stands solidly on its own with its own mystery and emotional arc, but when you read them in order you start to see how the pieces connect. All In especially feels like a payoff for sticking with the characters, because the overarching story deepens without ever overshadowing the case at hand. It is such a satisfying balance. And then there is Sloane. Getting her backstory in this book felt like finally being handed the missing piece of a character I already loved. She has always been this mix of brilliant and awkward, and learning what shaped her hit me harder than I expected. I was genuinely emotional reading a lot of the parts where she tried to process what happened to Aaron.

Recommendation

I am falling more and more in love with the series through every book I read, and I would definitely recommend it. It’s Criminal Minds with teenagers.
