Introduction
Published in Nov 2025 by indie author Aimee Riddell, this romantasy novel is set to be the first in the series, and is an absolutely joy to read.
A Summary
Moira wakes in the Wild Hunt with only scraps of her past and a growing sense that nothing around her is as simple as it seems. The fae who take her in feel both dangerous and strangely comforting, which only makes her fight harder to understand who she was and who she is becoming. Darius is the one she keeps circling back to, steady and unreadable, yet impossible to ignore. Just as she starts to settle into this new life, another loss pushes her to seek the truth for herself. Following a friend’s final wish sends her across the territories in search of answers. What she finds is not just the story of her origins but the power she never realised she carried.
Writing Style
Echoes of the Wild Hunt is a first person, singular POV novel centering on Moira. The chapter length is on par with typical romantasy novels - at around 10-20 pages per chapter.
My Thoughts
I loved how this novel refuses to follow the traditional path that usually defines the romantasy sphere. It made the entire experience feel fresh and genuinely exciting to read. The romance stood out in such a unique way, especially because it follows a fated connection where only Moira is in denial rather than both characters pretending they feel nothing. It gave the relationship a really compelling tension that felt different from the usual tropes. The writing style was also incredibly strong, with just enough description to make everything vivid and immersive without slipping into the overly heavy detail that so many fantasy novels rely on. The world building was clear and purposeful, making it easy to understand why the Wild Hunt exists and what the court’s role is within the story. I adored the characters. Every single one felt alive and distinct, and I found myself genuinely invested in their choices and the consequences that followed. What impressed me even more was that the story was not afraid to make drastic plot twists that traditionally published books often shy away from. Those choices gave the book a sense of real danger and incredibly high stakes. It made the fast-paced nature of the story even more gripping because you could never fully predict what was coming next.
Does Echoes of the Wild Hunt Contain Sex Scenes?
This book brings the spice, and a whole lot of yearning throughout its entirety. It works nicely alongside the plot but doesn’t overshadow it.
Spice Level - 2/5
